Anything can be taken to an extreme. Eating healthy should be reasonable and not become a works-based religion of its own. And there certainly is some marketing to the organic food movement, just like environmentalism a lot of it comes down to money and power.
Beyond simple nutrition and appropriate moderation, I believe that since our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit we should care for them the best way we are able in order to fulfill God's evangelistic purpose for us on this earth - whether it's two more minutes, months, or decades in which He gives us breath. I find that although total health is a multi-faceted condition integrating several systems, my spiritual health often plays the leading role in discplining the other "physical" aspects of well-being.

I'm refreshed to hear you make the comparison to the "green"/organic movement. I've been bugged lately by Christians that make those topics such a soap box, but don't speak the gospel! Thanks for you insights...your post made me "thirsty"!
